Dickie, Francis


DICKIE, Francis, writer (b 1890, Carberry, MB; d 1976). He left school at age 16 and worked on railway survey parties across the West, at the same time writing stories for the popular press. In 1911 he began a career as a journalist with the Calgary Herald. At the end of WWI he was living in VANCOUVER and working as a freelance writer.
