Donald

DONALD, or Donald Station, was originally called First Crossing. It lies 28 km west of GOLDEN, at the point at which the CPR crosses the COLUMBIA R. Donald is named for the railway executive Donald Smith, Lord Strathcona (see CRAIGELLACHIE). When the CPR moved its divisional point to REVELSTOKE in 1899, most of the community's residents and buildings moved as well.
