Duff, Wilson


DUFF, Wilson, anthropologist (b 23 Mar 1925, Vancouver; d 8 Aug 1976, Vancouver). Educated at UBC and the Univ of Washington, he was curator of anthropology at the provincial museum (see ROYAL BC MUSEUM) between 1950 and 1965 and was involved during that time with the reclamation of TOTEM POLES at abandoned HAIDA village sites on the QUEEN CHARLOTTE ISLANDS. He moved to the Department of Anthropology at UBC in 1965. He chaired the provincial Archaeological Sites Advisory Board (see ARCHAEOLOGY)...
