DUTHIE, Wilfred John "Bill," bookseller (b 8 Apr 1920, Weston, ON; d 7 Apr 1984, Vancouver). He came to VANCOUVER in 1952 and opened his first bookstore in 1957 at the corner of Hornby and Robson streets where, for many years, the legendary Binky Marks ran the paperback "cellar." Duthie expanded in 1962, opening a store on West 10th Ave (near UBC) that his brother David (1921–1998) managed for many years.
