ERICKSON, 4 km east of CRESTON, is in a fertile valley of farms and orchards (see AGRICULTURE) on Hwy 3 (also called the Crowsnest Hwy), which is lined at this point with fruit and vegetable stands. LOGGING is also important to the area. The community was named for E.G. Erickson, CPR superintendent at CRANBROOK from 1904 to 1908.
