ERIKSEN, Bruce Gordon, social activist (b 21 Mar 1928, Winnipeg; d 16 Mar 1997, Vancouver). Raised in an orphanage from the age of 5, by 14 he was on his own riding the rails. At 16 he shipped aboard a grain freighter to China, then returned to BC and worked as a logger, construction worker and ironworker.
