Fairmont Hot Springs

FAIRMONT HOT SPRINGS, pop 429, between Columbia and Windermere lakes, about 100 km north of CRANBROOK, were used by FIRST NATIONS people long before the earliest settlers arrived in the 1880s. TOURISM facilities were established at the springs in 1909. See also HOT SPRINGS.
