FIELDGATE, Norman, football player (b 12 Jan 1932, Regina, SK). He travelled west to join the BC LIONS for their inaugural season in the CFL in 1954 and in 14 seasons with the team he played linebacker, defensive end and offensive lineman. He was the Western Conference all-star linebacker in 1959 and 1960, a member of the all-Canadian team in 1963 and a key player in the Lions' 1964 Grey Cup win.
