FILBERG, Robert Joseph, lumberman (b 1890, Sweden; d 1977, Honolulu). His family moved to Colorado when he was a child and he came to BC in 1909. He soon became chief engineer of Comox Logging Co and eventually became president of that company as well as CANADIAN WESTERN LUMBER CO. In 1954 he became a director of CROWN ZELLERBACH. During WWII Filberg served as president of Aero Timber, a company set up by the federal government to log SPRUCE on the QUEEN CHARLOTTE ISLANDS for aircraft...
