FINTRY, on the west side of OKANAGAN LK at Shorts Point 30 km north of KELOWNA, was a pioneer AGRICULTURAL and ranching (see CATTLE INDUSTRY) settlement named in 1909 by James DUN-WATERS after his family estate in Scotland. The property was once home to Capt T.D. SHORTS, who operated the lake's earliest commercial boats.
