Fox

FOX, red (Vulpes vulpes), a small member of the dog family (Canids), is the only fox species found in BC. Rust red or silver-black, the red fox has prominent black ears, blackish lower legs and feet, and white underparts, chin and throat. The species occurs throughout the province in a variety of habitats, preferring open parklands and alplands where meadows are interspersed with shrubs and trees.
