Graham Centre

GRAHAM CENTRE, on Masset Inlet in the QUEEN CHARLOTTE ISLANDS, was a hopeful Graham Island townsite promoted between 1911 and 1916 by Charlie Adam, who ran a store and post office there. Nearby Queenstown, later PORT CLEMENTS, competed more successfully for settlers; Graham Centre disappeared. Graham Island was named after Sir James Robert Graham, British politician and First Lord of the Admiralty from 1852 to 1855.
