GREENWOOD, Canada's smallest city, pop 666 (2001), is located on Boundary Crk 18 km west of GRAND FORKS in the BOUNDARY DISTRICT. It was founded in 1895 by Robert Wood, a merchant, and incorporated as a city in 1897. Greenwood prospered during the ensuing MINING boom, and the population grew to 3,000.
