Griffiths, Frank Armathwaite

GRIFFITHS, Frank Armathwaite, broadcasting executive (b 17 Dec 1916, Burnaby; d 7 Apr 1994, Vancouver). After studying accounting, he joined his father's firm, Griffiths and Griffiths, in 1939. In 1956 he and 2 partners purchased the radio station CKNW, which became the first major holding in a BROADCASTING empire, Western Broadcasting, later (WIC) WESTERN INTERNATIONAL COMMUNICATIONS.
