Gyppo Logging


GYPPO LOGGING originally referred to contract LOGGING work undertaken by small, under-financed firms that relied on resourcefulness and ingenuity to compete. The term "gyppo" was first applied to contract labour crews who built short sections of railway grades and competed, or "gypped," by working long hours, cutting corners and otherwise establishing themselves in this highly competitive business.
