HANSEN, Rick, a.k.a. the Man in Motion (b 26 Aug 1957, Port Alberni). He became a paraplegic at age 15 when he was involved as a passenger in a motor vehicle crash near his hometown of WILLIAMS LAKE. He became a competitor in wheelchair sports, winning 19 international marathons, including 3 world championships, and competing for Canada in an exhibition race at the 1984 Olympics.
