HAWK is a bird of prey, smaller than an EAGLE. Most types feed on small mammals and birds, using their hooked beaks and curved talons to catch and tear their prey. Along with eagles, they have the keenest eyesight of any living animal. The plumage is usually a blend of greys, browns and whites. Nine species breed in BC.
