HOWAY, Frederic William, jurist, historian (b 25 Nov 1867, London, ON; d 4 Oct 1943, New Westminster). He moved west as a youngster with his family, and settled eventually in NEW WESTMINSTER in 1874. After teaching school for several years, he enrolled in law school at Dalhousie Univ in Halifax in 1890. He returned to BC to open a practice with his friend Robie Reid.
