KEARNEY, Jim, journalist (b 1922, Victoria; d 22 Aug 2008, N Vancouver). His NEWSPAPER career began at the VICTORIA Times as a copy runner fresh out of high school. He quickly graduated to general news reporting and in 1943 moved across GEORGIA STRAIT to the VANCOUVER SUN.
