Keatley Creek


KEATLEY CREEK is an archaeological site overlooking the FRASER R north of LILLOOET. It contains the remains of a village of more than 100 semi-subterranean houses (see ARCHITECTURE, ABORIGINAL) dating back at least 2,500 years. At its peak the population of the village was about 1,500, making it one of the largest prehistoric village sites in western Canada.
