Kemano

KEMANO, on the Kemano R near where it drains into the GARDNER CANAL on the North Coast, is an ancient village site of the Henaaksiala people. Residents amalgamated with the HAISLA (Kitamat) at Kitamaat in 1953 but still return annually to harvest EULACHON from the river.
