Kilby General Store

KILBY GENERAL STORE, located at the mouth of the Harrison R where it joins the FRASER R 16 km west of AGASSIZ, opened for business in 1906 to serve the small company town at the Rat Portage SAWMILL at HARRISON MILLS. Thomas Kilby operated the store until 1922, when his son Acton took over. The provincial government purchased the store in 1972 and turned it into a museum, re-creating the ambience of a country store in the 1920s.
