KRAJINA, Vladimir, botanist (b 30 Jan 1905, Slavonice, Czechoslovakia; d 31 May 1993, Vancouver). Educated at Charles Univ in Prague, he taught at the university until 1948. During WWII he was a leader in the Czech underground resistance to the Germans. He won election to the Czech parliament after the war, but in 1948, when the Communists took power, he and his family fled to Canada.
