LANSDOWNE, J. Fenwick, artist (b 8 Aug 1937, Hong Kong; d 26 July 2008, Victoria). He came with his mother from China to live in VICTORIA in 1940. Earlier he had contracted polio; it was during the long hours of convalescence that he developed an interest in birds. Despite his physical disabilities, he taught himself to draw and to paint.
