LISTER, formerly known as Camp Lister, 6 km southeast of CRESTON in the Creston Valley, was the site of a WWI soldier resettlement program. A farming community (see AGRICULTURE) developed, named after Col Fred Lister, who administered the project and later became a local MLA. This rural district has a community hall and a demolition derby grounds.
