LIZARD is a 4-legged, elongate reptile with a long tail that in some species can be shed and regenerated. Most species worldwide occur in warm, dry climates, but the 2 most common BC species are also found in forest habitat. Both are insectivores and comparatively small, given that the giant Komodo dragon of Indonesia, the largest lizard in the world, grows to 3 m long.
