MacMILLAN, H.R., SPACE CENTRE was established in Vanier Park, VANCOUVER, in 1969 with money donated by the FOREST INDUSTRY magnate H.R. MacMILLAN. Originally called the H.R. MacMillan Planetarium, it became the Pacific Space Centre in 1997, then took its present name in 2000. The building's unique shape was inspired by the traditional hats worn by the HAIDA.
