MACLURE, Samuel, architect (b 11 Apr 1860, Sapperton; d 8 Aug 1929, Victoria). He is probably the most notable of VICTORIA's architects for the quality and originality of his work produced during a 40-year practice in BC. The first white child born in NEW WESTMINSTER, he was the son of John Maclure, a ROYAL ENGINEER, who was later a surveyor and telegraph operator.
