MARRON VALLEY, including Marron Lk and the Marron R, is a ranching district (see CATTLE INDUSTRY) 14 km southwest of PENTICTON, part of a large OKANAGAN First Nation RESERVE. The Marron was probably the "river of wild horses" mentioned by botanist David DOUGLAS in 1833.
