McDOUGALL, Ian, musician (b 1938, Calgary, AB). In 1946 his family moved to VICTORIA, where at age 11 he began playing the trombone. In 1960 he moved to London, England, where he played in the bands of Johnny Dankworth and Ted Heath. After returning to Vancouver, he studied at UBC, played in the VANCOUVER SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA, and was a member of the Chris Gage and Fraser MacPHERSON bands at the Cave Supper Club.
