McNAUGHTON, Duncan Anderson, high jumper (b 7 Dec 1910, Cornwall, ON; d 1998, Austin, TX). Raised in VANCOUVER and KELOWNA, he enrolled at the Univ of Southern California in 1930 to train for the high jump and study geology. With the help of teammate and close friend Bob Van Osdel he perfected the western-roll jumping style that won him the California state championship.
