MIKI, Roy, writer (b 10 Oct 1942, Winnipeg, MB; d 5 Oct 2024, Vancouver). He was born to parents who had just been relocated by the government from HANEY to a sugar beet farm in Manitoba. This wartime experience marked his life. He was a leader of the redress movement, which in 1988 succeeded in winning compensation for interned and relocated JAPANESE Canadians.
