Mormon Church

MORMON CHURCH has about 18,000 members in BC. The vast majority belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS), the principal Mormon denomination. A few hundred belong to the Community of Christ, which in 2000 changed its name from The Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (RLDS). A third group, a breakaway sect called the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (FLDS), lives near Creston in a community known as Bountiful.
