MUNRO was a FRASER VALLEY farming district 10 km east of CHILLIWACK. Its original name—Camp Slough, after a temporary STO:LO Nation stopping place—was considered too mundane by early settlers as a post office designation. Gilbert Munro, who first took up land in the area in 1877, was commemorated instead.
