NICHOLS, Marjorie, journalist (b 1943, Red Deer, AB; d 29 Dec 1991, Red Deer). Raised on an Alberta farm, she studied journalism at the Univ of Montana and began her career in NEWSPAPERS at the Ottawa Journal in 1966. Two years later she became one of the first women in the press gallery covering Parliament Hill, where she began to earn a reputation for her tireless work habits and combative, flamboyant personality.
