ON-TO-OTTAWA TREK, June–July 1935, was a protest by single, unemployed men against conditions in the RELIEF CAMPS established by the federal government during the Depression. Inmates of the camps in BC, organized by the Relief Camp Workers' Union, staged a walkout in Apr 1935 and descended on VANCOUVER, where they subsisted on public charity and demonstrated in support of reforms to the camps.
