ORCA BAY SPORTS AND ENTERTAINMENT, a private company, owns GENERAL MOTORS PLACE in downtown VANCOUVER and the VANCOUVER CANUCKS hockey team. Orca Bay was created in 1995 when John McCaw, a Seattle billionaire, purchased the sports empire of the Vancouver entrepreneur Arthur Griffiths. McCaw sold a 50% share of the Canucks to Vancouver businessman Francesco Aquilini in 2004.
