ORIOLE, HMCS, a steel-hulled, 101-ft (30.8-m) ketch launched in Massachusetts in 1921, is the oldest commissioned and longest serving vessel in the Canadian navy. Designed by George Owen, a Massachusetts Institute of Technology professor, for a prominent Toronto businessman, Oriole was the flagship of the Royal Canadian Yacht Club in Toronto.
