PEETZ, Boris, fishing tackle maker (b 1883, Moscow, Russia; d 12 Jan 1954, Victoria). He arrived in Canada in 1910 and worked briefly as a silversmith for the CPR in Montreal before travelling west to VICTORIA in 1911. He established a jewellery business, but in his leisure time he loved to fish and by the 1920s he was designing and making his own fishing reels.
