Penny

PENNY, a LOGGING settlement on VIA Rail and the north side of the FRASER R 100 km east of PRINCE GEORGE, was the site of Roy Spurr's Penny Spruce Mills, which also operated as Red Mountain Lumber Co. A SAWMILL was established in 1917 and stayed open until the 1960s. A number of people still live in the area.
