POMFRET, Jack, athlete (b 22 Nov 1922, Vancouver). He excelled at BASKETBALL, SWIMMING, FOOTBALL, RUGBY, HOCKEY and BASEBALL and his career spanned every aspect of those sports, from player to coach to administrator. As a basketball player he was captain of his Univ of Washington team before returning to VANCOUVER to lead the Meralomas to one national championship and the Clover Leafs to 3. He was offered a baseball contract with the NY Yankees, while the NY Rangers sought his hockey skills....
