PRETTY, Charles N., logger, timber broker (b 7 Mar 1890, Sault Ste Marie, ON; d 6 Apr 1992, Chilliwack). He came to BC a few months after his birth, with his father, Charles Fenn Pretty, a pioneer in the commercial FISHING industry. They settled in NEW WESTMINSTER and Pretty's father sent the first shipment of SALMON on ice east from VANCOUVER by rail.
