PRINCE, Rose, Dakelh holy woman (b 1915, Fort St James; d 19 Aug 1949, Lejac). Born into the DAKELH (Carrier) nation, she entered the RESIDENTIAL SCHOOL at LEJAC in 1922 and stayed on after graduation to work around the institution. She was disabled by curvature of the spine. Prince was a devout Roman Catholic and a favourite of the nuns at the school. She died of tuberculosis at age 34.
