PRITCHARD, William Arthur, labour leader (b 1889, Salford, England; d 24 Oct 1981, Los Angeles). After arriving in VANCOUVER in 1911 he became head of the Longshoremen's Union and an activist in the Socialist Party of Canada. At the Western Labour Conference in Calgary in 1919 he was a member of the committee set up to organize the One Big Union.
