PROGRESSIVE DEMOCRATIC ALLIANCE (PDA) was a provincial political party created in 1993 by Gordon WILSON, former leader of the BC LIBERAL PARTY. Wilson had led the Liberals to a surprising second-place finish in the 1991 provincial election but proved ineffective at consolidating support. Trouble with his caucus forced him to call a leadership contest in 1993 and when he was ousted he formed the PDA.
