PULICE, Alfred "Foncie," street photographer (b 1914, Vancouver; d 20 Jan 2003, Kelowna). From the 1930s through the 1970s he stationed himself on the downtown streets of VANCOUVER and snapped candid photographs of passing pedestrians. He broke into the business in 1934, first working for another photographer and then striking out on his own after WWII. At his busiest he ran 3 operations, taking 8,000 photographs daily.
