QUICK, a LOGGING and AGRICULTURAL settlement 26 km southeast of SMITHERS on the BULKLEY R and the CNR, was named for Sam Quick, a GRAND TRUNK PACIFIC RWY section foreman. Waldham Paddon operated a general store here from 1921 to the late 1970s. Many residents relocated from the railway across the river to Hwy 16 in the late 1940s.
