RACCOON (Procyon lotor) is an omnivorous feeder, equally at home in the FOREST, where it eats fruits, BERRIES, nuts and small animals, and in urban backyards, where it forages in fish ponds and garbage pails. Distinguished by a humpbacked walk and masked-bandit face, raccoons are not shy of humans and may become aggressive in defence of food or offspring.
