RAINCOAST BOOKS is a VANCOUVER book distribution and PUBLISHING company. It was founded in 1979 by Allan MacDougall and Mark Stanton solely as a distribution operation, then expanded into wholesale and began publishing its own titles. It represented several British and American publishers in Canada and its wholesale arm, Book Express, is one of the largest in Canada.
