Raven

RAVEN, common (Corvus corax), is a large, black bird very similar in appearance to the CROW, but larger, with a heavier bill and a croaking voice rather than a "caw." The raven has fringed throat feathers (hackles) that give its head a shaggy appearance. It is a soaring, acrobatic flyer and an aggressive scavenger, and it plays a significant role in FIRST NATIONS mythology.
